There's a great book out there called A Daily Creativity Journal: 365, Make Something Everyday and Change Your Life by Noah Scalin. Basically, Scalin made something artistic out of a single theme every day of the year, he did skulls. In the book he gives ideas for what an artist can incorporate in a theme of their choice every day of the year. It's an awesome book, I recommend it to anyone looking to work on getting out of their artistic comfort zone.
Anyway, this year I plan on drawing (or photographing, painting, etc, etc) something the includes the theme of people. I've wanted to continue working on portraits and figures, mainly working on expression and movement, and I think it would be a perfect New Years Resolution and practice!
I encourage anyone to take the leap, pick a theme, and try it! I'll probably post some of the pictures I do. C:
