Chapter 20:
Sam could feel excitement run through his body, making his heart race in his chest. The sun had risen but an hour ago, and the young man was already walking around the clinic.
"You're awfully jumpy." Rosie commented, carrying a pile of bed sheets in her arms.
"Vera and I are leaving today; I suppose I should pay you and the doc." Sam said, a grin stretching across his face as he pulled the money out of his pants pocket.
"I suppose so; it'll come to $10.50." The small nurse said as she set the sheets on a counter, going to a cash register.
"Alright." Sam said, exhaling a bit at the cost as he drew out the money, lightly biting his lip as he realized that after that they were nearly out of money, sparing around a dollar and a few coins.
Rosie smiled as she took the money from him, "Hope you see your family soon sir."
"How many times do I have to tell you that it's just 'Sam'?" The young man said, a smile still on his face.
The small nurse rolled her eyes and picked up the sheets, disappearing around the hall. Vera walked past her and into the waiting room, where Sam stood rocking back and forth on his heels. She smiled and put a hand on her hip, "Are you ready to go Sam?" She asked.
"More than ever." The young man replied, his smile bright and large across his face.
"Make sure you take it easy." The voice of the doctor called from the hallway, "I don't want you coming back here."
"Thank you." Vera called to him with a smile before taking Sam's arm, the two of them hurrying out the door.
They moved quickly, maneuvering their way through the bustling people out walking in the morning. "You've got this grin on your face." Vera pointed out to Sam, a smile on her own face,
"You have no idea how amazing it feels." Sam explained, looking over at her while they walked, "I miss them so much, and it's only a matter of hours now."
"I bet they can't wait to see you either." Vera replied.
"Of course we'll need to find somewhere for you." Sam said, "You're always welcome to stay in our home, there's not much space, but we'll make room."
"Oh don't worry, I'll find somewhere to stay." The blonde woman said, "You don't have to go through the trouble."
"Please, it's the least I can do." Sam urged, "And, the kids will adore you, but as a warning they'll be an earful."
Vera laughed warmly, "Alright, if you have room I'll stay, but only until I can find a place of my own."
"It's settled then." Sam declared, clapping his hand together.
Vera laughed again before looking up and seeing a Stanley Steam vehicle that she was familiar with, and inside of it she saw the man she'd almost met at the alter. "Sam, we need to hurry." She said with minor panic in her tone.
"What's wrong, are we late for the train?" Sam asked, looking down at her.
"Leon's on the other side of the street." She stated, looking forward.
"It's alright, look casual, we're almost there." The young man said, looking a head as well, hoping the man hadn't caught sight of them.

Suicide or Tea?
Should I kill myself or have a cup of tea?
I decide on the latter and I'm not sure why. Probably because I can. Life is a never-ending scroll of be-goods, be-happies, be-in-controls, be-okays, be-strongs and be-appreciatives. So what's another day?
Just another day closer to death.
Still, life seems incredibly long, don't you think? So long, it's hard to see the end and nearly impossible to touch even with a knife in my hand that could easily skewer my heart, make it squirm and still like a dying nightingale sealing its death with a pathetic squeal of almost-song.
Life is pain and people in pain are a pain in the ass. Perhap

"You're mixing water in your coke again."
"I know."
"You do that when you worry."
"I'm always worried."
"No, you're usually cinnamon-in-your-tea worried. This is water-in-coke worried and that is seriously beginning to freak me out."
"I know."
"..."
"What?"
"What are you worried about?"
"You're going to think it's stupid."
"Try me."
"Well...do you ever wonder about the kind of guy you're waiting for?"
"I think we all wonder about that guy, love."
"I've been thinking about him more often than not lately. What he would be like, I mean."
"Oh. Well...if it helps any, I know what mine would be like."
"Really?"
"Sure. He will be tal

She is dream dust,
too bitter or wise
for her own good.
A timeless dragon's soul
somewhere inside a
scaled shell, burning
the silence in her bones
alive, honeysuckle sweet.
She collects fireflies only to
set them free at 3am,
crying to an uncaring moon.
& she's begging for the stars
to take her away,
make this house a home
rigged in the sky.
To me,
She is already naked fever
swimming through the cosmos
& I orbit her.
